It's not very nice to go after the people in between as being the people you really want to attack. But I guess if you can't reach them directly maybe you can make it irritating to work for them at least. I've always wondered if there is a way to make it impossible for the NSA and its ilk to find employees.
First off, let me state that I am not supporting this action. I do not view it as an effective means of protest.
That said, I'm not sure I agree with your sentiment. I think one could argue in the bureaucracy, the staff are fair game. The staff (generally speaking) are the ones that implement, aren't they? To not target them assumes implementation is not subject to ethics. I think the machine is flawed, not just the "deciders".
I don't know... ugly situation unfolding. I think it'll get worse before it gets better.
I'm as upset as most people on here about the NSA's actions, but this is just foolish.
To Congress members, this is going to feel like an attack and a threat. People are going to want repercussions for those responsible, and now there is fresh fuel for any proponents of PRISM-like monitoring.
Some of those passwords appear not to need to be shuffled. I mean, how about your name and congressional district? Yeah, that would make an excellent password! Or the name of your last campaign!
