That is when you see the whole tool chain, OSX, Xcode, Compiler all optimized for Ryzen in WWDC. I hope.

I honestly dont think any consumer will stop buying Mac just because Intel isn't inside the Mac. And it will save Apple at least $200 BOM per Mac, making final Mac Selling price around ~$250 less. Slightly more affordable. Or more likely, staying within the same pricing and give you double the SSD storage.

AMD would have to match the current power draw and integrated GPU that Apple can get from Intel before they switched on the portable front.

I think AMD would make more sense on Desktop front. But TB3 is still a roadblock.

The crew over at amd-osx.com figured it out, can't imagine it'd be much more difficult for Apple to do so.

There's more to it than just getting AMD to boot the kernel. Features like AirPlay that are Intel-specific.

There's more to it than getting it 'working'. Airplay support, for one.
