Getting downvoted should make you think. Maybe you suffer from a very common illness that you can find very often nowadays in Germany: pointing fingers at refugees and (ab)using them as scapegoats for whatever some think is wrong with this country. Usually truth is the first victim in such cases.
I think he (m/f) expected to get a lot of downvotes and thus created a separate account just for this.
Refugees are given housing under terms not accessable to regular citizens and thus may be (in some cases) getting a total "deal" at higher cost than a regular citizen.
But what is the alternative to this? Collecting refugees in big camps worsening social problems and problems with lack of integration.
Refugees get housing not accessible to regular citizens like a bed in a tent, gymnasium or another large building you need to share with a huge number of people in which you don't have any private space.
Regular citizens will get their rent payed for by the government and subsidized housing, if they require welfare.
You've got to be mental or completely incompetent at identifying and comprehending trustworthy news sources to believe refugees are somehow better of than citizens or even immigrants.
They were and the newer arrivals will of course given proper housing. They're still not in any way better off financially than German citizens though. That's just right wing propaganda.
Why funny? Do you want to make a case against this or did you just want to inject what could be read as a derogatory comment into the conversation? Also, facts? figures?
The housing may be free, but much of it is nothing even the poorest Bavarian would want. I volunteered at a converted old Praktiker (big box hardware store that went out of business a few years ago). It was a huge open space that had hanging curtains to make rooms for families. We tried to teach them German, but it was so loud that it was really hard for them (or for us) to hear and concentrate. Gradually, they got moved out to better places, but we've still got a container building of refugee apartments in the town where I work.
I'm glad my tax Euros are going towards sheltering them, though. I'm from a very Baptist part of Texas and find it deeply ironic that living in Germany puts me much closer to living in a Christian society than where I grew up.
And? Everyone eligible has the same right and will get free accommodation as well.
But there is a social criteria rating and a refugee fleeing from war gain the highest grade nothing wrong about this.
The failure isnt with the people but the government for not building enough houses ahead of time as they stopped to do so and even sold some of there owning for no real reason. Money is not the problem especially in bavaria.
But playing the card that the poor have to fight the poor is pretty stupid.
